The two worked together in the mornings for nearly five years on alternative rocker 103.9 The Edge (KEDJ) and at Clear Channel’s Xtra Sports 910 (KGME-AM). Powell was last heard hosting mornings on Bonneville’s 98.7 The Peak (KPKX) for less than a year in 2009. Marotta has been involved with sports radio in the Valley for over a decade including a few tours of duty at Clear Channel’s Xtra Sports 910 (KGME-AM).

Chuck Powell and Vince Marotta are said to begin their morning show January 3 on AM 1060 The Fan.

Riviera’s alternative X103.9 (KEXX) is changing their on-air lineup, including Craven Moorehead to afternoon drive and Brian “Hammer” Panereli to evenings.

Moorehead has been with the station for 13 years and Hammer had been seeking a full-time position in the industry. He has previously been doing part-time/weekends for X103.9 and in early June, landed part-time at Westwood One/Metro Networks.

St. James will take care of the 9am to noon shift– a shift that most recently belonged to Darrell Ankarlo. He is no stranger to KTAR-FM as he had been one of a few wheel of hosts filling in for the 9am to noon shift while Ankarlo continued to recover from a serious injury suffered over a year ago.

Bruce St. James will take late mornings over beginning Monday, May 3.

It is KEDJ’s second major change in less than a year. Back in July of 2009, KEDJ took the time to campaign for listener survey participation on how to make the station better. There was a bit of a stunt on-air. When they returned, the longtime, well-known name for the station as “The Edge” was dropped for “FM 103-9″ and a major programming tweak.

Today, “FM 103-9″ was dropped for “X103-9″– the X, representing Generation X as their target.
