98.7 The Peak’s Amy leaves the Chris & Amy morning show

The Chris & Amy morning show on Bonneville’s 98.7 The Peak announced Tuesday morning that Amy Van Dyken will be leaving the morning show. Chris & Amy have been on The Peak since December 2009, after moving from Clear Channel station, Mix 96.9. Amy is moving back to Colorado for family reasons.

Midday personality Monica Nelson will now join Chris.

Bristol Palin sought for Phoenix radio

Out of recent news of Bristol Palin purchasing a home just outside of the Valley in the city of Maricopa, Mix 96.9 morning show host Mathew Blades gave her a warm welcome in his blog with an open invitation to a job on his morning show. Blades is not seeking political commentary, and is allowing flexible hours for Palin, who is rumored to possibly attend Arizona State University.

Mix 96.9′s newly acquired morning guy, Mathew Blades, adds another station under his belt as he debuted today on Louisville, Kentucky’s 100.5 Gen-X Radio.

In addition to the morning shift on Mix, he will also be heard 6-10am on the fellow Clear Channel station in Louisville, Kentucky.

Mix 96.9 fills gap in morning drive

Clear Channel Phoenix’s Hot AC, Mix 96.9 (KMXP) brings aboard Mathew Blades to fill in the gap of the morning drive, after morning show host Chris Parker left the station in early December to join 98.7 The Peak up the street.

Mathew Blades comes from Adult Hits WLWK in Milwaukee as afternoon drive guy. He is to begin mornings on Mix 96.9 in early March.

Mix and Peak lose, gain morning shows

Wondering what happened to Chuck Powell on the Peak, and Chris Parker on Mix 96.9? Both have been taken off of their respective station websites most recently and were not on-the-air.

It is learned that Chuck Powell, morning drive personality at Bonneville’s 98.7 The Peak (KPKX), will not be returning to The Peak.

Mix 96.9 morning show host, Chris Parker (hosted with Amy Van Dyken for much of the time), will be moving the morning show to 98.7 The Peak.

Chris and Amy will begin on December 17. It is not known where Chuck Powell will be going at this time.
