What’s the scoop? What’s the deal with 1440 KAZG?

Rumor began years ago on Radio-Info.com that KAZG uses a lamptimer to power-up and power-down its station at sunrise and sunset. The rumor held some possibility in some minds because the power-up and power-down times were never the same. Even further, the time seems to drift an eleven seconds each day, for much of the time. It remains a mystery and myth, because it has not been proven, but it certainly has caught on with great popularity amongst radio aficionados.
