Rumor sparked earlier in the week on the radio industry message board of Radio-Info.com about former Power 98.3 (KKFR) DJ, “Melissa the Midnight Mamacita” getting the midday spot at competing station, 101.5 Jamz (KZON). Melissa had fallen victim at KKFR to cutbacks, along with several others at the station and sister station KEDJ.
It is confirmed that since Monday, November 9, Melissa is back on the radio at competing station, 101.5 Jamz (KZON) doing middays. You can call her: “Melissa the Music Mamacita.”

I might also call her the potentially sued mamacita: I thought this post was about Midnite Movie Mamacita (former Chandler Cinemas, current Madcap Cinema on Mill Ave.) until I actually read the post. Who has used the “mamacita” longer?

You really think so, BCE?
Never heard of it, but I wonder if that would be a success being that the two aren’t competitors or in the same industry. You certainly can’t put a trademark on the Spanish word, “mamacita,” and that seems to be the only thing between the two that are the same. Nobody’s profiting off of each other.
Just imagine all in radio that would sue over the names “Shotgun” and “Machine Gun.”
