Wondering what happened to Chuck Powell on the Peak, and Chris Parker on Mix 96.9? Both have been taken off of their respective station websites most recently and were not on-the-air.
It is learned that Chuck Powell, morning drive personality at Bonneville’s 98.7 The Peak (KPKX), will not be returning to The Peak.
Mix 96.9 morning show host, Chris Parker (hosted with Amy Van Dyken for much of the time), will be moving the morning show to 98.7 The Peak.
Chris and Amy will begin on December 17. It is not known where Chuck Powell will be going at this time.

Why did they leave their respective shows? I listened to Chuck Powell on 103.9 and was happy when he resurfaced on the Peak. Where is he now?

I hope Chuck resurfaces. I was so glad when he came back to Phoenix. I moved right when he went back on air and have been streaming 98.7 just to listen to him. He deserves to be treated better from Phoenix radio stations, so I hope he gets something fabulous.

Crazy, I switched to listen to the peek when they signed Chuck. He would have been great if they would have given him a partner to play off of..

I choose “alarm clock radio” for a deejay I don’t particularly like so I get out of bed. Chuck Powell fit that perfectly. Hope I don’t particularly like Chris & Amy either.

I used to listen to MIX every morning but switched to the Peak b/c I cannot stand Amy. Chuck was great. Now this morning I thought I had the station wrong and was SOOO annoyed that she followed me to this new Amy-less morning show. She rarely contributes anything intelligent or thoughful to the dialogue and her traffic reports are monotonous and just plain terrible. She’s irritating and I will have to find a new morning station now. I wonder what station Chuck moved to.

I’m so sad, I enjoyed the Peak’s music even with Chuck. I don’t care to listen to Chris and Amy because all he talks about is himself and Amy’s traffic reports are terrible and incorrect. The Peak will be more gab not much music. Sorry, I’m not thrilled about this. Now that they have moved over to the Peak, I guess I’ll switch to the Mix.

Well I sure dont agree with the comments I see slaming Amy and Chris. I will be listening to The Peak for their show but may swich back to MIX after the morning show depending on the music. I have been listening to MIX for years, but since the loss of Chris and Amy the morning show has been so so boring.

I liked Chuck Powell on The Edge so much that when he turned up on the PEAK,I listened in the morning even though I didn’t care for their music that much, but I loved Chuck and was really sick of Chris Parker. Imagine my surprise when Chuck once again disappears and now Chris is there. At least I dont have to listen to that awful music anymore and now both The Edge and MIX96.9 are playing a lot more music in the mornings and I like their on air peeps, so I guess it was a win afterall. Just wish I knew where Chuck was!!
